Upfront

It’s 3 in the morning,
I feel kind of boring.
Hope my neighbours keep snoring,
That they don’t hear me recording.
Tempted to porn it,
But what would that do for me?

Nobody can say I didn’t care,
Nobody can drop their jaw and stare.
Nobody at all gets to take my chair.

Two-oh-four,
Two-oh-four.
I have a Corvette in my imagination.
Left me childhood friends in two-oh-four.
One-two, buckle my shoe,
Three-four, somebody slammed the door.
Two-oh-four,
Two-oh-four.

I’m here.
I’m here.
I was running,
And I’m breathless,
But I’m here.
I’m here…
I’m here…
I keep fumbling,
And I’m wreckless,
But I’m here.
I’m here.

Two-oh-four,
Two-oh-four.
I have a Corvette in my imagination.
Left me childhood friends in two-oh-four.
One-two, buckle my shoe,
Three-four, somebody slammed the door.
Two-oh-four,
Two-oh-four.

Feeling that fear,
Refrigerate grief,
Pretend I’m a thief,
Weekends cap my knees,
Keep me adhered,
Spit rhymes like they’re cheap.
Try not to get angry,
Or I point right at me
Say stuff like “I sharted, fear me.”
And “Don’t let your guard down.”
Take three.

You keep saying I’m full of it.
I’m sorry, did you want the whole list?
GAD and OCD, Marfan tried to make me trip:
Hips, shoulders, finger joints like to unhinge,
Wake up in the morning, see the rack was on a binge.
I get vertigo from walking,
Nauseous fits me when I’m hungry,
Knees hyperextend when I jump on trampolines,
Skateboards like to throw me like a seed,
Got ten fillings this year because dentistry is terrifying,
IBS is like a bus schedule for free,
Sleepless nights inspire me to poetry,
CBD works ten times better than caffeine.
Used to be the human pretzel mirthfully,
But now I get x-rays and physiotherapy.
Six foot seven, I weigh one-eighty.
Once I was two-forty, but I moved from east.

Two-oh-four,
Two-oh-four.
I have a Corvette in my imagination.
Left me childhood friends in two-oh-four.
One-two, buckle my shoe,
Three-four, somebody slammed the door.
Two-oh-four,
Two-oh-four.
