I can’t keep it in,
You might wanna take a couple steps back,
‘Cause I can’t keep this in.
You might wanna get some distance ‘tween us,
I won’t sell you anything,
But maybe you should put a barricade up.
‘Cause I just can’t keep it in.
Thankfulness in me is drawing up into a shout!

Who first contrived the idea of God?
What man could spin such a tale?
Who could put the Maker above all?
Who would say He wants your walk by faith?
Every other thing on earth is called
By one label or another,
But who named God, that He could fail?

The weather’s been better,
But it’s also been worse.
I tried self-defending
And ended up in a hearse,
Chauffeur had ideas so diff’rent,
Drove about a block before he turned
Another way, took me away forever.
I wasn’t dead, but the pride got me so burnt.

Who first contrived the idea of God?
What man could spin such a tale?
Who could put the Maker above all?
Who would say He wants your walk by faith?
Every other thing on earth is called
By one label or another,
But who named God, that He could fail?

I made a decision,
And I’ve stumbled since,
But I haven’t changed my mind.
