Keep On It

I’m feeling like a misfit,
Haha, guess I’ll just deal with it,
Emotions like a fallen wick,
Like I’m tassle-legs on an oil slick.
Keep me lit,
Trying to stay positive,
Tired of the mocker’s wit.
Lemme just sling it like this:

Skippin’ over skinners
Like I’m skimmed milk,
Self-esteemed silk,
Keep me like Ezekiel 6.
Faith is not what’s in my brain.
What I really want becomes plain.
Every beginning has an end,
No self-defending left.

Couldn’t be much more
Than I am now, faith gets stored
Deep inside, and open doors
Are impossible to shut but scorn
Might distract you from what’s yours,
Always better to remember the Lord
And what He does over your worth.
Like He shouts over you, births
New hope inside your heart.
Just tell Him when it hurts.

Skippin’ over skinners
Like I’m skimmed milk,
Self-esteemed silk,
Keep me like Ezekiel 6.
Faith is not what’s in my brain.
What I really want becomes plain.
Every beginning has an end,
No self-defending left.

Keep on,
Keep on,
I’ma just keep keeping on
Like I barely need this song.
Keep on,
Keep on,
I’ma just keep keeping on
Like I barely need this song.

Green lights say “Go.”
Stop signs don’t grow.
Waiting’s better–don’t turn alone.
Writing letters at red lights, slow
Up traffic, rocking bass like cloves
Rattling like that subwoofer’s on full,
Nod your head, soulful bobbleheaded flow.
Let ’em all know,
Let ’em all know.

Skippin’ over skinners
Like I’m skimmed milk,
Self-esteemed silk,
Keep me like Ezekiel 6.
Faith is not what’s in my brain.
What I really want becomes plain.
Every beginning has an end,
No self-defending left.

Keep on,
Keep on,
I’ma just keep keeping on
Like I barely need this song.
Keep on,
Keep on,
I’ma just keep keeping on
Like I barely need this song.
